Available Programs - brick and mortar

In 2022, we merged our two flagship programs (CrossFit and City Strongman) into one condensed offering that convenes 6 days a week under our Dutch Kills Fitness Group Training. This condensed offering combines the best of each sport specific elements into one balanced and effective program. With training built around strongman apparatus on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the 6 days of programming balances, power lifting, olympic lifting, strongman, gymnastics, and endurance and is structured to challenge all levels of fitness.

CrossFiT (Crossfit dutch Kills)

CrossFit is a fitness regimen developed by Greg Glassman over several decades. Glassman, CrossFit's Founder and CEO, was the first person in history to define fitness in a meaningful, measurable way: increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. He then created a program specifically designed to improve fitness and health.

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.

The community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together is a key component of why CrossFit is so effective, and it gave birth to a global network of CrossFit affiliates that number over 13,000. Harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.

The CrossFit program is driven by data. Using whiteboards as scoreboards, keeping accurate scores and records, running a clock, and precisely defining the rules and standards for performance, we not only motivate unprecedented output but derive both relative and absolute metrics at every workout. This data has important value well beyond motivation.

Overall, the aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness supported by measurable, observable and repeatable results. The program prepares trainees for any physical contingency—not only for the unknown but for the unknowable, too. Our specialty is not specializing.

While CrossFit challenges the world's fittest, the program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual, regardless of experience. General Preparedness fitness

CrossFit is for everyone.  While the sport of CrossFit is becoming more and more popular, we must remember that the roots of CrossFit were and remain to bring fitness and health to the general population.  By finding the proper CrossFit program, you will learn to challenge yourself beginning at any fitness level.

Strongman (city strongman)

Strongman dates back to the 19th Century where persons performing incredible feats of strength were often donned with the name.  Once strength sports began to organize into powerlifting and weightlifting, strongman became it's own sport specific category.  At City Strongman we use modern day equipment to replicate the most raw and classic strength movements to train both competitive athletes and the general population alike.  Using apparatus intended to mimic natural movement more often than not increases results measurably.  City Strongman mixes the classic events you would find in the sport of strongman and makes them available to everyone in a dynamic mix with more traditional strength training. 

Small Group Instruction

All City Strongman classes are instructed by a qualified coach and are held in a small to medium size group setting.  Athletes work together to improve their craft and fitness under the watchful eye and instruction a class instructor and coach.

Sport Specific

City Strongman's high intensity spin on the classic training for the sport of strongman, has yielded measurable results for the already competitive athlete and has made the novice athlete top of his or her class at most competitions.  Many of the City Strongman Athletes compete at the National level. 

General Preparedness fitness

While City Strongman offers all the tools needed to become a competitive strongman athlete the majority of those taking class are simply looking to feel, perform, and look better and healthier.  The strongman apparatus have a way of making working out fun and interesting.  So "Put Down the Barbell" and get off that treadmill and come lift with us.
